Sportfight X certainly did their thing Saturday night, March 24 in Huntsville. Touted as Southeastern MMA’s Ultimate Proving Ground –they did just that, they had a lot to prove and prove it they did. MMA is alive, well, and flourishing in Alabama.

The Von Braun Center was busy that night with the Hammers-Lions (arena football), two wedding receptions, a Theater Huntsville production, a dance recital, the Heads N Tails crawfish festival and Sportfight X. Even so, Sportfight X had about 2500 die hard fans, friends, fighters, and family rockin the house. Omega Attire was busy getting the jumbo screens ready and the lights and the music. With so much to get ready it got started a little late–but it was definately worth the wait.
On to the fights. Amateurs started out the night–
Molly Richardson vs. Anna Smith —winner by submission due to strikes – Anna Smith – Shadetree MMA
Josh Jarrett vs. Morris Ginyard – with a Kimora in R1 1:23 secs – Josh Jarrett repping TRIAD Martial Arts emerged the victor
Wes Baugh vs Keaton Wood – Team Hybrid vs Atlanta Top Team – with a win in R1 :34 secs by TKO Keaton with ATT
Eder Niegto vs Craig McAlpine – the winner by Guillotene in R1 1:37 McAlpine with The CAGE MMA
Jason Sanderson vs Jake Mears – Advanced Ammy at 205 lbs the winner by R1 1:28 secs TKO Team Throwdown’s Jason “The Sandman” Sanderson defeated Team Hybrid’s Mears
Josh Senkbeil vs Maurice Tunstall – Amazing WAR indeed with Senkbeil pulling off the win by a deep Guillotene Choke in R2 1:26 secs. Ft. Rucker was well repped with Tunstall but Senkbeil nailed the victory
In the first sanctioned PRO fights in Alabama – the results were:
Chris Craft vs. David “DMAC” McAfee – with an amazing KO in :27 secs of R1 – DMac lite Craft up with a straight right that sealed his win for the night. Explosive. Love that Fear None camp.
Sasuke Zapata vs. Paul Gardener – what can I say but some kicks from hell nailed Gardener more than once. With the win coming by way of Front Guillotene – Zapata got the big W.
Matt Vaughan vs. Steve Hall – what a war. X3 Sports Georgia are some powerful fighters as Matt found out. Vaughan got his world rocked early on and never made a complete recovery. With the Win by TKO in R2 4:42 secs – Steve Hall had his hands up.
Matt “Irish Car Bomb” Smartt vs. Will Kuhn –heel hooks anyone? What a powerful battle between two warriors–simply amazing. Kuhn pulled out the victory in R3.
Stephen Wilhite vs Jonathan Clemmons – TRIAD Martial Arts Wilhite making his PRO debut. JCClemmons from Clarksville, Tennessee will not soon forget. Winner – Stephen Wilhite. Check the video for fight footage.
